Pahari youth’s plea to Governor

RAJOURI, Mar 6:  The youth hailing from Pahari belt of Jammu and Kashmir have appealed the Governor N N Vohra to provide 5 % reservation to the Paharis by according them ST status.
In a meeting of the Pahari youth held at Rajouri today, the speakers urged upon the State Governor to provide Pahari status to the people from Pahari belt otherwise, they would launch massive agitation. They said  in Pahari belt of J&K Hindus, Muslims and  Sikhs depict the composite culture and they are the sufferers since long. Te previous Government has already passed a resolution in this connection.
Meanwhile, JKPPM chief executive urged upon the  Governor to  realize the seriousness of issue and grant ST status to Paharis  without wasting more time. He said that thousands of frustrated youth can be misled by the separatist forces if the demand is not fulfilled. He again asked the Pahari people to remain united to launch a united struggle for their common cause.
Shahbaz Khan JKPPM leader appealed the Pahari youths of the State to gear up  for ongoing struggle for ST status as  Pahari People movement has launched Statewide compaign  to prepare Pahari students/ youths, who inspite of high percentage and meritorious are suffering badly in every field.
State president of Pahari Student Union Ab Qadir Khan and another youth leader Sayeed Mughal also spoke on the occasion.
