Pahalgam coldest as temp falls

SRINAGAR, Dec 1:  Night temperature in Kashmir remained below freezing point with Pahalgam recording coldest night followed by Gulmarg and Srinagar.
A Meteorological Department official said the minimum temperature in Pahalgam was recorded -5.1 degree Celsius against the previous of -4.0 degree Celsius. He said the day temperature settled in Pahalgam at 11.1 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature in summer capital Srinagar was recorded -2.9 degree Celsius against the previous of -1.7 degree Celsius.

Day temperature in Srinagar settled at 14.2 degree Celsius. Qazigund in South Kashmir recorded a low of -2.4 degree Celsius against the previous low of -1.2 degree Celsius while maximum temperature settled at 13.4 degree Celsius.
In Kupwara, the day temperature was recorded 15.2 degree Celsius and night temperature settled at -2.4 degree Celsius against the previous of -2.0 degree Celsius. Kokernag recorded a maximum of 12.3 degree Celsius while night temperature settled at 0.5 degree Celsius. Gulmarg ski destination recorded a low of -3.4 degree Celsius against the previous of -2.4 degree Celsius while maximum temperature was at 6.2 degree Celsius.
Leh, however, witnessed an increase in night temperature where minimum temperature settled at -11.3 against the previous of -9.4 degree Celsius while maximum temperature stood at 9.6 degree Celsius. Kargil recorded a maximum of 7.3 degree Celsius and minimum temperature settled at -1.8 degree Celsius against the previous of -7.0 degree Celsius.
