Another intrusion bid foiled

JAMMU, July 2: Army last night thwarted another infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Balnoi sector of Poonch district. This was fourth intrusion bid by the militants foiled by the troops on the LoC in Poonch district during last seven days.
Official sources said a group of three to four militants tried to infiltrate into the Indian territory from near Bhagwan Post in Balnoi sector of Poonch district at 1.45 am today.
The alert troops opened firing aiming the direction the militants were taking to reach close to the fencing. After heavy volume of firing, the militants escaped back to their launching pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
“The infiltration attempt was successfully foiled,” sources said.
This was fourth infiltration attempt foiled by the Army along the LoC in Poonch district. The previous three attempts were foiled in Tarkundi and Langiot forward areas of Balakote and Mendhar sectors.
Sources said Army was anticipating more such infiltration attempts by the militants on the LoC.

Amit slams cracking ton as RCC Srinagar enters semis

JAMMU, July 2: Utility all-rounder, Amit Sharma slammed cracking century (102) as Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) defeated star-studded New Challengers Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 15 runs in a high scoring match of 1st Titu Memorial Cricket Tournament, being played at High School ground, Satwari, here.
Earlier, batting first, RCC Srinagar rode on a swashbuckling knock of 102 runs off 70 balls by Amit Sharma and scored a mammoth total of 204 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Amit struck 7 fours and 9 sixes in his power-packed knock. Satish Kumar contributed valuable 31 runs off 21 balls with the help of 4 boundaries and one six. For New Challengers Club, Ramdayal and Sahil Sharma claimed one wicket each.
In reply, New Challengers Club gave a tough fight and managed to score 189 runs to lose the match by a narrow margin of 15 runs. Ramdayal was the top scorer with 57 runs off 30 balls, studded with 5 fours and 3 sixes, while Vishwajeet contributed quick-fire 44 runs off 17 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Sidharth Magotra chipped in with 29 runs off 21 balls, hitting 4 fours and one six. For RCC Srinagar, Amit Sharma and Amandeep Singh scalped 3 wickets each, while Satish Kumar and Rahul Mussa too 2 and one wicket respectively. Amit Sharma was declared man of the match for his splendid show.

JAMMU, July 2: Ace skater, Milan Pal Singhhas been selected to represernt the Country in the forthcoming World Championship to be held at Toulouse in Francefrom July 7 to 13, 2014.
The brilliant sportsperson has been picked for the Championship during the selection trials held at Faridabad, recently.
Mr Milan has  played 12 National Championships and won 8 medals at this circuit.
He is being trained by PP Singh and Kamal Anand and is a regular player of Shiva Roller Skating Institute Peer-Kho.
GS Khurmi and others members of Roller Skating Association have lauded the efforts of Milan for this outstanding achievement.

‘Drabu, Wahid were JKLF members’

Srinagar, July 2: The chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Mohammad Yasin Malik, today said that some selfish people used “freedom movement” as a launch pad to seek importance for achieving their self interest.
Describing these people as political renegades, Malik said that people have to identity them who are hell bent upon damaging the “resistance movement”.
Recalling the sacrifices of Ishfaq Majeed Wani, Yasin Malik said that Mohammad Maqbool Butt, Ishfaq Majeed Wani, Dr Abdul Ahad Guru, Professor Abdul Ahad Wani, Dr Farooq Asahai, Nadeem Khateeb, Dr Turabi, Shamsul Haq and intellectuals like them sacrificed their lives for a just cause. “They could have led a wealthy and luxurious lives but they chose the path of thorns”, he said.
Malik while commenting upon Dr Haseeb Drabu joining PDP said that Drabu has chosen the path of betrayal and has joined the group of those conscience selling people who used “resistance movement” as a launching pad to satisfy and achieve their selfish goals.
“In 1996 I met an old man at Airport who introduced his son Sideeq Wahid to him and said that he has dedicated his son for freedom movement. After few days Sideeq Wahid who during those days was running a travel guide agency in Delhi came with another person Dr Haseeb Drabu. They came to Hurriyat office in Delhi in an auto rickshaw to meet me. Dr Drabu spoke to me for hours and during his conversation he told me that whenever he is in Bombay he visits the ancestral house of Quid-I- Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and bows his head in respect for his wisdom about Hindu mind set”, said JKLF Chairman.
Malik said: “Drabu insisted that separation from this mentality and mindset and resistance against this was necessary. He joined JKLF and both these worked with us for months. Yasin said that after few years Sideeq Wahid sold his conscience for a post at Jammu University and was rewarded the vice chancellorship of Islamic university Awantipoora. Dr Drabu was awarded with the chairmanship of J&K bank and hence both these renounced the resistance movement for their pity selfish gains.”
The JKLF Chairman said that the history of Jammu Kashmir right from 1947 bears a witness to this fact that many people (Conscience sellers) used “resistance movement” as a launching pad and after assuming importance landed in the lap of India for achieving their pity selfish interests. “Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Bakhshi Ghulam Mohammad, Ghulam Mohammad Sadiq, Mir Qasim, Mufti Mohammad Saeed, Farooq Abdullah, Gul Shah and many more are a glaring example of this betrayal. In 1988 after the peoples revolution started, selfish people changed their colors and joined the rows of freedom movement but finally fall in the lap of India using the resistance movement as a launching pad”, he added.
“Among these Abdul Majeed Mir ( ex MLA Shangus),Gani Naseem (ex MLA Khansahib), Ishtiyaaq Qadri, Junaid Matoo, Abdul Majeed Matoo(joined National Conference), Mohammad Yaqoob Wakil ( joined Congress), Altaf Ahmad Bukhari, Raof Bhat ( Hizb ul Mujahideen) ,Syed Mohammad Husain, Pir Mansoor, advocate Abdul Haq, Nizam ud Din Bhat, Saif ud Din Shutroo, Muntazir Mohi-ud-Din, Khurshid Aalam, Mohi-ud-Din Sofi, Yasir Reshi, Mushtaq Ahmad ( MLA tral) (joined PDP )and Imran Rahi and hundreds others are few who traveled through the lanes of resistance to reach their selfish goals in pro-Indian politics”, said Malik.
JKLF chairman said that time has come when Kashmiris should to identity and learn about the real faces of these people, who by becoming political renegades (Kuka Parray’s) have and are hell bent upon damaging the “resistance movement” of Kashmiris.
Malik said that the nation of Kashmir is slowly and steadily coming to know the originality of these chameleons and need of the hour is to negate these people on social front so that these people are remembered only as political renegades and Kuka Paray’s.

PDP protests over delay in construction work of flyovers, artificial lake

JAMMU, July 2: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a protest against State Government for delaying the construction work of flyovers and artificial lake in Jammu city.
The activists of PDP led by its Jammu West president Puneet Jamwal and accompanied by ward presidents Rajat Gupta, Chetan Jamwal, Dharminder, Kunal, Sunil and CP Raju assembled at Canal Road and raised slogans against State Government, ERA and PWD for delaying work on the proposed flyovers and artificial lake in the city of temples.
While speaking, Puneet Jamwal said that the work on the proposed BC Road-Rehari Chungi flyover project has been put into the cold storage merely on the issue that huge funding is required for the rehabilitation and land acquisition from Balwinder Chowk to Shakuntla crossing. But the main reason is that the due to some political pressure the work on the project has been stalled, he added.
He further said that during the last five years Omar Abdullah led regime has done nothing to minimize miseries of the people including basic facilities.
Gurdev Singh, vice president, Jammu West said that the work of flyover of Bikram Chowk to Satwari is also running on a snail speed. People are suffering as big barricades along the working site has been raised and have become death traps-leading to number of accidents, hence putting people into problems.
Rajat Gupta alleged that the project of artificial lake Tawi was started in back in year 2010 but unfortunately various deadline for the completion of the project have been missed.
“If immediate steps are not taken to complete the proposed projects as soon as possible, PDP will intensify protests”, the protestors warned.

25 Asstt Directors promoted as Deputy Directors

4 gamblers arrested by Digiana police

JAMMU, July 2: Police arrested four gamblers along with Rs 3,130 stake money and playing cards from Udham Singh Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Digiana police post.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police party from Digiana police post conducted a raid in Udham Singh Nagar and arrested four gamblers along with Rs 3,130 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Dalbir Singh, son of Hardeep Singh of Gangyal, Charanjit Singh, son of Mohinder Singh of Model Town Gangyal, Chankar Singh, son of Tarsem Lal of Roop Nagar, Digiana and Amarjeet Singh, son of Raju of Vishwakarma Chowk, Digiana.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered at Digiana police post and investigation started.
Police party headed by incharge police post Digiana SI Ashok Bazaz made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar police station Manzoor Ahmed Kohli, SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh and SP South Rahul Malik.

Absconder arrested after four yrs

DODA, July 2: Police arrested an absconder from Barath, who was evading his arrest for the past four years.
A police spokesman said that, police party from Doda police station arrested an absconder namely Mir Hussain, son of Mithu Gujjar of Gujarari Barath, who was evading his arrest since 2010.
The accused was wanted in a case registered under FIR number 261/14 under Section 366 and 199 of RPC and warrant under Section 512 CrPC was also issued by the court against him.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police party headed by SHO Doda police station made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Doda Mohammad Sharief Chouhan.

After performing the Chhari-Pujan at Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar on ‘Nag-Panchami’, falling on August 1, Mahant Deependra Giri Ji shall carry the holy Mace to holy Shrine of Swami Amarnath Ji to have ‘Darshan’ on ‘Shravan-Purnima’, falling on August 10.

Sadhotra chairs 14th ESIC Regional Board meeting

SRINAGAR, July 2: Minister for Planning, Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra has elucidated upon the authorities of Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) to improve the delivery system, so that the persons registered with the Corporation will get the benefit of the schemes launched in the State.
The Minister, who is also the Chairman of the ESIC Regional Board, was chairing 14th meeting the Board here today.
Underlining the need for implementation of the previous Board decisions, the Minister said that taking decisions is not sufficient but need is to get them implemented on ground level for overall benefit of the persons registered with the Corporation. He asked the officers of Corporation to pursue the matters at the concerned quarter to obtain the purpose for which the Corporation has been established in the State.
The Board expressed displeasure over non-commissioning of Model Dispensary and Diagnostic Centre (MDDC) approved for Khanmoh, Srinagar and ESI Hospital at Ompora Budgam industrial areas. The concerned officers were asked to follow up the case and ensure that both the facilities are established early in the State. The Board asked Regional Director to advertise all the posts of doctors in local news papers of Srinagar and Jammu required for the Corporation dispensaries and hospitals for making early selection of medicos.
Highlighting the achievements of the Corporation, the Regional Director informed that 1.10 lakh workers from the State are registered with the Corporation, who are getting treatment facilities through 9 ESI dispensaries and one ESI Model Hospital. He said Corporation has paid Rs. 2.13 crore as reimbursement to over 4000 beneficiaries during last financial year.
The meeting was informed that MDDC Kathua has already been commissioned at Kathua while construction of ESI dispensary at Samba has been taken up with SIDCO to start work on the project early.
