JAMMU, July 30: Taking serious note of emerging situation in the Kashmir valley where forces inimical to the permanent return and rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Hindus are permitted to proliferate, Kashmira Vahini a frontal women organization of displaced Pandits today appealed the community to support the initiative taken by the displaced KP women in this direction.
Talking to reporters here today Dr Kshema Kaul, National spokesperson of KV and Sudesha Kaul its chief coordinator strongly condemned the statements issued by Hurriyat hardliner, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, and other separatist leaders including grand Mufti, Mufti Bashir-ud-Din for issuing Fatwa against the return and rehabilitation of Pandits in Kashmir. It should serve an eye opener that return of Pandits to their homeland is opposed by one and all in Valley, on one pretext or the other, they added.
The KV leaders, while accusing these forces for hounding out Pandits from Valley held them responsible for the 25 year long blood-shed, destruction and devastation in the state.
KV leaders also strongly condemned the recently organized violent attacks on Swami Amarnath pilgrims at Baltal by the hooligans to obstruct the yatra.
They said this indicates that the situation in Kashmir was turning from bad to worse day by day. It accused the district administration of Anantnag of acting as a mute spectator during the July 13 episode at world famous Sun temple at Mattan and alleged that authorities have failed to implement the SC judgment in letter and spirit. They also condemned the attack on famous shrine of Mata Kheer Bhawani at Tulmulla.
The KV leaders while taking the SHO concerned to task said instead of taking the culprit to Police Station, he took him inside the holy shrine for interrogation and provoked the hooligans to attack the shrine.
They urged the Union Government to take a realistic view of the ground situation emerged due to new wave of radicalization in Kashmir. They said without analyzing and evaluating the circumstances that led to the forced exodus of KPs from Valley in 1990, any attempt for their return will be futile.
They said GoI should accept KPs exodus as a religious cleansing and genocide and return and rehabilitation of the community should be based on reversal of genocide.
While fully backing the separate homeland demand for KPs as per Margdarshan resolution of 1991 of Panun Kashmir, they said as a prelude to addressing the return of KPs, Centre should institute fast track tribunal to punish the killers of Hindus in Valley.
Kirti Kalla, Vijay Saproo, Sushma Reshi, Gayatri Hashia and others were also present in press conference.
