Airtel rolls out cloud-based communication platform ‘Airtel IQ’

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Oct 26: Telecom operator Bharti Airtel today entered the rapidly-growing cloud communications market with the launch of business-centric ‘Airtel IQ’.
A cloud-based omni-channel communications platform, Airtel IQ, aims to enable brands to deepen engagement with customers through timely and secure communication, a company statement said, terming the move as a “game changer” for the fast-evolving Indian enterprise communication segment.
Airtel IQ aims to eliminate the need for multiple communication platforms for different channels, and already companies including Swiggy, Justdial, Urban Company, Havells, Dr Lal Path Labs and Rapido have signed up as customers for Airtel IQ in the beta phase.
The platform, now commercially available, runs on a pay-as-you-go model meaning that the costs for enterprises would depend on the consumption levels.
“With just a slice of code, businesses can embed communication services such as voice, SMS, IVR (interactive voice response) in their applications and digital properties across desktop and mobile, all through a unified platform,” the statement said.
Ajay Chitkara, Director and CEO – Airtel Business said that the new platform could translate into 30-40 per cent cost reduction for enterprises as compared to traditional models. “Airtel expects large call centre ecosystem, e-commerce and internet companies, start-ups, banks and those into manufacturing and distribution to be early adopters of the platform, given their need for omni-channel communications,”, he added.
Airtel IQ has been fully developed by Airtel’s in-house engineering teams. “Natively integrated into telco grade infrastructure and architected by top digital talent, Airtel IQ is robust, secure, cost-efficient and intuitive,” the Airtel statement said.
Adarsh Nair, Chief Product Officer, Bharti Airtel, said “Airtel IQ is first amongst several game changing products that we will be bringing to the market”. Businesses are increasingly looking to cloud-based digital platforms to engage with consumers and Airtel IQ is built to raise the bar, Nair added.

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Oct 26: Doctors at Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) Gurugram successfully treated a 23-year-old female patient from Jammu with Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) for gallbladder stones.
In Jammu, the patient developed pain in abdomen which was recurrent and severe in nature. On doing the ultrasound, the patient was diagnosed to have gallbladder stones and was advised to undergo Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy which traditionally requires four cuts in the abdomen and takes longer recovery.
After several consultations in Jammu, the patient was taken to Fortis Hospital Gurugram where she successfully underwent Scarless Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy by a team of doctors lead by Dr A K Kriplani, Director and HoD, Minimal Access Bariatric and GI Surgery at Fortis Hospital, Gurugram.
Dr A K Kriplani said, “SILS is a new and novel way of performing laparoscopic surgery. In SILS technique used at Fortis Hospital Gurugram, only a single 12 mm (½ inch) cut is made deep within the belly button. The pain is very less as it is a very small single incision and recovery is faster. Unlike multiport gallbladder surgery, no metal clips are used inside. At the conclusion, the cut is closed using special medical grade waterproof glue without any stitches. No dressing is required, and the patient can shower after 48 hours. The patient can resume their normal life in 4 to 5 days.”
“The success of SILS depends greatly on the experience and skills of the surgeon”, said Dr Rashmi Pyasi. She asserted that currently, more than 95 percent of gall bladder removals are done by SILS at Fortis Hospital Gurugram because of tremendous experience. “Because of the highest degree of skills and rigorous training required, very few centers have been able to establish this technique for regular,” she added.
