‘Pagah’ Kashmiri Theatre Festival concludes

SRINAGAR, May 24: On concluding day of ‘Pagah’ Kashmiri Theatre Festival, Tagore Hall witnessed jam-packed audience for Kashmiri folk play ‘Angraiz Paather’.
The week-long festival was inaugurated on the eve of 14th foundation day of Vomedh and was part of Vomedh’s initiative for preservation and promotion of Kashmiri language under project Pagah.
The brother duo Rakesh Roshan Bhat and Rohit Bhat, Vomedh Co-founders, were festival directors.
Reputed theatre groups from J&K presented their Kashmiri plays during the fest.
The plays performed in seven day fest were Daye Sanz Dayegath by Vomedh, Zahar by Chinar Art foundation, Shakle Gaur by Yemberzal Youth Club, Dagg Rouz Lalvin by Shahkaar Cultural Society, Mukjar by Mehak Dramatic Club, Ghar Devta by Samooh Theatre and Angraiz Paether by Kashmir Performers.
The prominent guests like president Private Schools Association, G.N Var; Director DD News Srinagar, Qazi Salman; VC Central University Kashmir, Prof Farooq Ahmad Shah; Writer, Arvind Shah; Actor Director, Ayash Arif and others attended the festival.
The function started with traditional welcome Rouf performed by Shagufta and group.
This was followed by felicitations and play performance.
