Sir,
The JPC’s recommendations for final settlement of refugees’ issues including payment of compensation claims to the displaced families of 1947, 65 & 71 is welcomed wholeheartedly, DE Jan 07′. Indeed, it is a magnanimity of our Govts. who have now atleast realized the pains and agonies these people suffered in those unfortunate days. Therefore, any anti-refugee stance by any political party would mean re-opening of the wounds and putting salt on them.
The community is already displeesed with successive Govts for their deliberate failures in keeping them suffering for 67 years. Any anti-refugee attitude or party politics to undermine the process of their rehabilitation would be considered totally biased and prejudicial. It is entirely a humanitarian cause and deserves human sympathy.
Yours etc….
