Package employees protest enters 74th day

JAMMU, July 23: The indefinite protest of the PM package employees entered 74th day today as they reiterated their demand of relocation outside the Kashmir Valley.
The irate package employees have continued their protest for their relocation/shifting to Jammu province in the office of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) Canal Road Jammu. The protesting PM package employee leaders wearing black badges and white T-Shirts with “Save Us” written on them and were holding protest with the national flags in their hands. The agitating employees were demanding the right to life as guaranteed by Article-21 of the Constitution and thus were demanding their survival and safety.
The demonstration was held amid rains and downpour which did not deter them from protesting. Meanwhile, a protesting package employee, Rubin Saproo appealed the DDOs concerned not to stop the salaries of the package employees. He further stressed that the LG administration should utilize the services of the package employees in the RC Office Jammu and its relief counters.
The agitating employees stated that they will continue their indefinite strike till the fulfillment of their only and genuine demand of relocation/shifting to Jammu division.
