JAMMU, June 22: Former Minister and MLA Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Khan today claimed that overall development of border areas is on the top priority and Congress high command has always remained concerned with the pro-public issues.
Khan after holding a series of meetings at Pallulian, Dhara Sambla in Doongi Block of his constituency, laid foundation stone of community hall at Nagoon, a border area of Doongi block, which shall be constructed against an amount of Rs 12.30 lakh in the current financial year.
Khan also addressed a public darbar at Nagoon where all the district/block/sectoral level officers of R&B, RDD, PDD, Health, Irrigation, PHE including Abdul Majid Wani, XEn-PWD remained present to redress the issues of general public.
MLA impressed upon all officers to work with zeal, zest and dedication and accountability must be there. People of the border areas already bear the burden on behalf of other areas and remain neglected, so they deserve much preference.
He issued on spot directions to the officers to redress the issues of public and serve in people friendly manner. He also reviewed various roads under progress and asked the concerned to expedite all ongoing works within stipulated time so that people do not suffer for want of basic amenities.
Khan urged the gathering of Sarpanchs/Panchs and local public of the area to vote in his favour for the overall development, and those issues which could not be covered in the current Coalition Government, shall be taken on priority in the next Government, if comes to power.
