Over dozen killed, 30 injured in Rajouri bus accident

JAMMU, Mar 8:  Over a dozen people including kids were killed and 30 others injured when a bus they were traveling in skidded-off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in hilly Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“More than 12 people including children have been killed and 30 injured when a bus on way from Bagori to district Rajouri this afternoon met with an accident near Manurgala,” police spokesperson here said today.

He said police, army and locals immediately rushed to the spot, started the rescue operation and shifted the injured to the district hospital.

“We have rushed special medical teams to the spot,” Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health Shabir Khan here told  reporters.

He said he has also spoken to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah about the incident.

“We do not have exact figures about casualties so far but dozen persons reportedly have been killed,” he said adding directions have been issued to the district administration to immediately airlift the critically injured to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. (UNI)
