JAMMU, Dec 23: Pakistan Army last night again opened firing in violation of ceasefire agreement at Mankote sector in Poonch district while over 50 landmines exploded on the Line of Control (LoC) in the same area in a fire in the bushes, which continued till late this evening.
Official sources said Pakistan Army opened firing on four Indian pickets at 9.50 pm last night and continued it for about half an hour. There were no casualties or damage on Indian side in the firing.
The Indian side didn’t retaliate.
Meanwhile, grass and bushes along the LoC in Mankote sector of Poonch district caught fire last night leading the explosion of land mines last night as well as today.
Over 50 landmines had exploded in the fire till this evening, sources said but added that there was no loss of life in the fire and mine explosions.
The fire had receded by tonight.
