Over 20 lakh electors to cast vote on Apr 11 in Jammu-Poonch LS Seat

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Electoral Officer Shailendra Kumar on Wednesday said that over 20 lakh voters will cast vote in Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat on April 11.

“The Jammu Parliamentary Constituency (PC) spread over 20 assembly segments of four districts of Jammu, Samba, Poonch and Rajouri will go to polls in the first phase on April 11,” Mr Kumar said here in a statement.

He added that there are total 20,00,485 voters in the PC including 10,38,497 males, 9,61,960 females and 28 transgender, adding 2986 Persons with Disability (PwD) and 293 marked as VVIP (Voter Verification and Information Programme) voters.

“The authorities have set up 2740 Polling Stations at 1932 locations for the smooth conduct of elections,” he added.  (AGENCIES)
