JAMMU, Oct 10: About 22 people were injured today when a bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and overturned near Manda area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a bus bearing registration No JK02BA-4877, which was on its way from Jammu to Bhaderwah rolled down on the road after hitting a hillock near Manda police naka. He said that the mishap occurred at about 5.30 am when the driver of the bus lost control over the steering.
The spokesperson said that about 22 people were injured in the mishap and were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. He added that all the injured persons are safe, as none of them got serious injuries.
Among the injured were Kanchan Devi (36), Mohd Iqbal (59), Arnish Kumar (23), Shan Singh, Mohd latif (35), Nazir Ahmed (50), Ghansham Singh (50), Kulwant Singh (30), Sunil Kotwal, Tanish (6) of Bhaderwah.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Pacca Danga and efforts are on to nab the bus driver, who fled from the spot soon after the mishap.
