JAMMU, Feb 25: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today said that 14284 passport and 5244 LoC permit verifications have been pending disposal for various reasons.
In a written reply to the question of Mehbooba Mufti, the Chief Minister said, “such verifications are pending disposal for various reasons like non-receipt of reports from field formations, incomplete residential address, re-verification for adverse cases and applicants are out of the State”.
He informed that during the year 2013, out of 64,586 cases received for verification of passports, 446 cases have not been recommended. Similarly, out of 1400 cases of LoC permit of Indian applicant received during 2013, 77 cases have not been recommended.
“The non-recommended cases don’t fall under the ambit of the present policy of the Government”, Chief Minister further said while refusing to disclose the particulars of these persons.
