JAMMU, June 24: Police Station City recovered over 12 kg of heroin like substance on the disclosure of a drug peddler.
According to a police official, an FIR No 38/2019 was registered on May 27 under Sections 8/21/22/29 at police station City. He said after investigation was taken up, various leads were developed and on the basis of that a suspect namely Mohd Altaf alias Hafiz son of Khadim Hussain, resident of Behrooti Kanga, tehsil Balakot, district Poonch, was arrested on June 21.
“Based on the disclosure of the suspect, 12 packets of heroin like substance with total weight 12.42 Kg were recovered from the location identified by him,” the official said, adding further investigation in the case is underway.
