Over 10,300 Kanals land retrieved in 3 Jammu Districts

JAMMU, Jan 31: Over 10,300 Kanals of the encroached State land has been retrieved in separate drives in three districts of Jammu province on Tuesday, an official said.
“In a series of drives, the teams of Revenue and Police Department freed 10,319 Kanals of the State land from the clutches of the encroachers in Reasi, Ramban, and Kathua districts,” he said.
Individually, he said, highest 7289 Kanals of the State land was freed in Bahabbar Brahamana, Pouni, Katra and Dharmari areas of Reasi District followed by 1687 Kanals of the State land retrieved in Kanga, Parnote, Dhalwas, Rajgarh, Pogal-Paristan, Khari, Ramsoo, and Batote areas of the Ramban District.
In Kathua District, the official said, “the land eviction drive freed 1343 Kanals of the State land from the encroachers in Marheen, Dinga Amb, Hiranagar, Kathua, Basohli, Nagri-Parole, Bilawar, Lohai Malhar, and Mahanpur areas.”
In Reasi, the Deputy Commissioner Reasi has directed all the Tehsildars to chalk out a comprehensive plan and intensify the eviction and demolition drives in collaboration with the police and other concerned in the coming days so that the rest of the encroached land is retrieved in a stipulated time frame.
The Deputy Commissioner Ramban has also asked the revenue officers to leave no stone unturned in evicting the state land from the encroachers.
Teams of District Administration Kathua have also been activated across all the Tehsils to take strict action against the illegal occupants and retrieve the State/Kahcharai and Roshni land encroached upon by the grabbers.
