Outstanding journalist Pran Chopra dies at 92

NEW DELHI : Renowned journalist and former editor of the Statesman Pran Chopra died here today after a brief illness.
He was 92.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
In his more than 60 years career as a journalist, Chopra was associated with many newspapers including the Hindu and the Tribune.
He also brought out his own magazine ‘The Citizen’ and ‘The Weekend Review’.
One of the rare surviving pre-partition journalists, Chopra covered the second world war as well as the pre-partition trauma.
He had begun his career in the All India Radio and did the commentary for the first Republic Day of the country for AIR.
He was also one of the first journalists to cover the first Republic Day for AIR. (AGENCIES)
