JAMMU, Feb 17: Apex Committee, Youth 4 Panun Kashmir (Y4PK), chairman, Rahul Kaul has said that Kashmiri Pandit (KP) community rejects Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s latest attempt to present himself as well-wisher of KPs.
“His outreach is not an act of reconciliation but a calculated effort to erase the truth of our genocide,” Kaul said adding that wounds of their genocide still remain fresh in their minds.
“The same Mirwaiz remained silent when our community was being massacred and now he speaks of peace,” he maintained.
Vithal Chowdhary, president, Y4PK said that there are certain elements within KP community who amplify Mirwaiz’s agenda and these individuals do not represent KPs.
He further said that the use of sacred festivals like Herath to stage scripted ‘Milans’ is a direct insult to the struggle of KPs.
