UDHAMPUR, June 22: Annual Oss Mela was organised at Dhar Ghadian, tehsil and District Udhampur, in which large number of pilgrims participated with enthusiasm and fervor.
The mela was organized by Oss Mela Choud Mata Welfare Committee and attended by people from adjoining villages like Charat, Pakhlai, Ossu , Kaira, Ghordi etc. This was one day mela in higher reaches of Dhar Ghadian with beautiful meadows.
Joginder Singh Jasrotia, ADC Udhampur was chief guest during the mela while Jai Singh, Tehsildar Udhampur, was the guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion, ADC Udhampur assured Oss Mela Committee to fulfill all genuine demands of the area where almost entire population bongs to ST community. He also stressed upon public to keep mountains and flora and fauna neat and clean.
The Mela Committee members demanded road connectivity from Dhar Ghadian to Yug Dhar so that the area can attract tourists.
Prominent among those present in the Mela, included Jia Lal, Mukhtiar Chand, Baldev Chand , all the committee members, Vimal Sharma, Raj Singh, Shakti Sharma (all GQs), Surinder Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Anoop Singh, Autiq (all Patwaries) .
