OROP among demands raised by Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces

JAMMU, Aug 31: One Rank One Pension (OROP) was among the demands raised by Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association here today.
In a press conference Darshan Kumar Chauhan, Association’s General Secretary demanded separate Armed Force Services and Pension Rules instead of CCS Rules and exemption from New Pension Scheme (NPS) as para-military forces are also performing duties for 24 hours at LoC.
Chauhan said, it was a commitment made by Prime Minister Modi during his visit at Leh on Diwali festival in 2019 that OROP shall be sanctioned to para military forces but the same is still awaited.
He appealed Union Finance Ministry to release DA from January 2020 onwards on priority base as prices of essential commodities have gone up.
Demand of waiving off the 50 per cent Corona Tax in para-military forces canteens in J&K UT was also raised.
The Association leaders also demanded CSD Canteen facilities instead of Central Police Canteen (CPC) as per previous procedure before 2014.
Post retirement benefits at par with defense force ex-servicemen/widows and dependants was also demanded on this occasion along with restorations of stopped pension.
