JAMMU, Mar 14: Chairman, Oriental Insurance Company Limited, Dr. A. K. Saxena, today presented a cheque worth Rs. 1 crore to the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for the relief and rehabilitation of flood victims.
The cheque was handed over in the presence of Minister for Finance, Labour, Employment & Culture, Dr. Haseeb A. Drabu.
The Chief Minister, while thanking Dr. Saxena for the kind gesture of Oriental Insurance Company, urged him to explore possibility of recruiting trained educated youth from J&K in running the company’s State operations.
He appreciated the efforts of the company in settling claims of over Rs. 200 crore in favour of the victims who were badly affected by State’s worst-ever floods.
