JAMMU, Jan 9: Stunned by the overwhelming support to BJP in the recently concluded ULBs and Panchayat elections in the State and fearing defeat in forthcoming polls, the leaders of the opposition parties in J&K are issuing false and baseless statements against BJP to mislead the public opinion.
In a statement issued here today, BJP State spokesperson Balibir Ram Rattan while hitting out at Opposition parties said not a single day passes when the senior leaders of Congress and NC try to mislead the people with false promises of coming to power which they have been doing since last over 70 years. He however exuded confidence that the people of the State will not fall in their trap and as a matter of fact they will once again express their faith in BJP and push opposition parties to wall.
Criticising the two parties Balbir asked them to explain what they did during their rule. Instead BJP brought prestigious educational and professional institutions like IIM, IIT, Food Craft Institute, Indian Institute of Hospitality & Management, Institute of Mass Communication. It is BJP which got the emoluments of VDCs doubled, first Weather Forecast Instrument was installed at Sanji Chat in Katra during BJP rule and introduced Ayushman Health Insurance Scheme. Jammu migrants relief was enhanced at par with Kashmir migrants during BJP time which the NC Congress failed to do in 15 years of their rule in the State as well as at Centre.
He also reminded the opposition parties who are misleading the people that the BJP played with cause of Jammu that Dogri language was included in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution with the efforts of BJP during Atal Behari Vajpayee Government. BJP honoured great Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh by installing his statues while it was heading JMC. Further it dedicated a park on the bank of river Tawi to Maharaja Hari Singh while sharing power in the State.
Balbir said that the BJP’s tenure of three and half year in State’s coalition was a golden period as all the three regions of J&K witnessed equitable development and expressed hope that the people will not make mistake of supporting opposition parties which have nothing to claim in reality but always indulge in divisive politics.
