SRINAGAR: Opposition National Conference (NC) and Congress members today staged a walkout from the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly after speaker Kavinder Gupta did not allow them to ask supplementary question on National Food Security Act (NFSA) and transparency in food distribution in the State.
The NC and Congress members wanted to ask supplementary questions when Rural Development minister Abdul Haq Khan was replying on behalf of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Minister to a question by Kamal Verma who wanted to know the progress on providing ration cards to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in the State.
The NC and Congress members wanted to ask question about NFSA and food distribution by CA&PD in the state. However, speaker disallowed and said no more supplementary question since many questions have already been asked by the members.
