*People must take prior appointment on phone

JAMMU, May 9: The OPD services in Government Medical College (GMC) and its Associated Hospitals (AH), Jammu will be resumed from May 12, as an order in this regard was issued today by Principal and Dean, GMC&AH Jammu, Dr Nasib Chand Digra.
According to the order, patients can book their appointment from May 11 onwards from 10 AM to 4 PM on all working days and appointment for Monday shall be given on Saturday. However, the total number of appointments per Speciality per day has been capped at 20.
“The OPDs will be operational from the respective OPD Sections from 10 AM to 2 PM. However, the Psychiatric OPD will run from the premises of Medicine OPD as Psychiatric Hospital is designated as COVID-19 Hospital. The Chest Disease OPD will run as per current schedule as CD Hospital has been designated as COVID-19 Hospital,” the order read.
As per the order, the OPDs for Opthalmalogy (Eye), Orthopedics, Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, ENT, Obst & Gynae, Dermatology (Skin) and Radiotherapy/Oncology will run daily and for appointment, people can contact on dedicated phone numbers for each specialty. For getting appointment of Opthalmology OPD, one can contact at 9541925355, for Orthopedics 9541925356, for Medicine 9541925357, for Surgery 9541925358, for Paediatrics 9541925359, for ENT 9541925360, for Obst & Gyane 9541925361, for Dermatology 9541925362 and for Radiotherapy/Oncology 9541925374.
“The Cardiology OPD will run on Monday (Unit-I) and Wednesday (Unit-II) and for appointment one can contact at 9541925363, Nephrology OPD will be on Monday and Friday and people can get appointment at 9541925364, CTVS OPD will run on Tuesday and Friday and for appointment people can contact at 9541925365 while for Neurology OPD which will be conducted on Thursday and Saturday the patients can contact at 9541925366,” the order stated.
It further added that Neurosurgery OPD will be conducted on Tuesday and Friday and people can take appointment by dialing 9541925367, Endocrinology OPD will be run on Saturday and one can contact at 9541925368 for appointment, for Urology OPD (Tuesday and Thursday) people can contact at 9541925369, for appointment of Chest Disease OPD (which will be as per current schedule) one can dial 9541925371 and for Psychiatric OPD (Saturday) one can contact at 9541925372 while the administration of Medical College can be contacted at 9541925374.
“The dedicated mobile numbers of the Department will be operational from 10 AM to 4 PM on all working days for fixing the appointment and the patients who get the appointment shall present themselves to the Registration Counter between 10 AM to 12 Noon with a valid Identity Card,” the order read.
As per the order, each patient will be accompanied by not more than one attendant who must be wearing proper face masks while the social distancing will be maintained at all costs in all sections of the Hospital including Registration and OPD area.
The authorities advised patients to attend the OPD by prior appointment only, failing which they may not be liable to be examined by the doctors in the OPD. It was also declared that the indoor admission and surgical procedures will not be undertaken as of now and will be notified when the administration takes a decision in this regard.
Pertinent to mention here that, Excelsior has exclusively highlighted in its today’s edition that Government is going to start OPD services in GMC and Associated Hospitals, Jammu from next week.
