AKHNOOR, Aug 9: Provincial president of National Conference (NC), Rattan Lal Gupta while castigating the Govt for bringing multiple miseries to the people of J&K through its wrong policies, has asserted that only NC can address the concerns of the common people in J&K once it forms a representative Govt with full support of the people.
The senior NC leader stated this while addressing a large gathering at the public meeting organized by the party at Akhnoor. Various issues faced by general public were discussed in the meeting with Gupta being the chief guest.
The local people apprised the NC leader of the scarcity of basic amenities in the area. They said that they are living a miserable life due to poor condition of roads, scarcity of drinking water, electricity and poor health and medical infrastructure in the area.
After giving them a patient hearing, the senior National Conference leader assured them that he would take up their issues with the concerned authorities. Rattan Lal said it is very painful to see the people of Akhnoor belt suffering amidst huge hardships due to the absence of the very basic amenities necessary for survival in the present day world. Expressing concern over the shortage of drinking water, Gupta said that this is attributed to the Govt’s insensitive approach towards the daily wagers’ issues in the PHE. He asked the Akhnoor people to support National Conference that vouches for the equitable development of all regions. He asserted that only NC can address the concerns of the common people in J&K.
The meeting was organized by Madan Lal Ex- Member Akhnoor Municipality.
Those who were present in the meeting included Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial secretary Jammu Province, Vijay Lochan Provincial president SC Cell, Pardeep Bali, Laxmi Dutta, Raghubir Singh Manhas, District president Jammu Rural, Dr Gafoor Ahmed Central Zone vice president, Kuldeep Kour, Mohinder Singh, Devi Dayal and others.
