JAMMU, May 22: CJM Jammu Ashwani Sharma today awarded one year imprisonment to a ration dealer Ravinder Kumar for selling BPL ration to mill owners in Akhnoor area.
After hearing Senior PO Rohit Gupta with PO Arvind Manhas for the State, CJM observed, “taking into consideration the nature and gravity of the offence and the circumstances of the case, this court is of opinion that a sentence of one year and fine shall suffice the purpose”.
Accordingly, accused Ravinder Kumar was awarded simple imprisonment for a period of one year with the fine in the sum of Rs 5,000.
