One year imprisonment awarded in attack case

JAMMU, May 29: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu VC Koul today awarded one year imprisonment to Sonu alias Loundu, son of Charan Dass of R S Pura, who was facing trial in an attack case.
“The accused has committed offence punishable under Section 325 RPC and is facing trial before the court right from 08.11.2013. Keeping in view the journey of trial of more than 5 years as well as the age of the accused, the adequate sentence commensurate with the level of his guilt would be simple imprisonment for a period of one year and fine of Rs 5000 and in case of default in payment of fine he shall undergo a further imprisonment for 1 month”, the court said.
