JAMMU, Nov 19: Channi Himmat police today arrested a person with 16.5 grams of heroin.
“During naka checking, a police team of police station Channi Himmat led by SHO Inspector Deepak Katoch rounded up a suspect who turned suspicious on seeing police naka,” a police official said. He said on search of the suspect namely Riptapan Singh son of Gyan Singh, resident of Karan Bagh (Satwari), 16.5 g of heroin was recovered from him.
The official said that a case FIR Number 189/2021 under Section 8/21/22 of NDPS Act was registered at police station Channi Himmat and the accused was arrested. The overall arrest and recovery was made under the supervision of SDPO East Sajad Sarwar.
Police had started to work on backward linkages i.e from where exactly drugs had been procured and the forward linkages also i.e where the drugs were to be delivered. Intensive questioning was going on to know about their other accomplices in the crime.
