KATHUA, May 21: One baby pilgrim of Vaishno Devi died and two other women were injured in a bus accident, which hit a divider at Sakthe Chack, National Highway, falling under jurisdiction of Kathua Police Station, today.
The Punjab road bus bearing registration number PB02AB-8692 which was on way to Punjab carrying pilgrims of Vaishno Devi was hit by a divider of the road, resulting into death of minor girl namely Priyanka (2-1/2) and injuries to two pilgrims namely Pulan Devi and Shala Devi of Balrampur.
After getting information of the accident, a police party headed by SHO Kathua shifted the injured to District Hospital, Kathua, wherein injured were being treated when last reports came in.
The post mortem of minor girl who died in the accident will take place tomorrow. Meanwhile, Kathua police has registered the case under relevant Section and started investigation.
Kathua police has also launched a man hunt for driver and conductor of the bus who are absconding.
