One killed, six injured in road accidents

JAMMU, May 29: One person was killed while six others were injured in separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a woman namely Poli Devi (35/36 yrs) wife of Pawan Kumar, resident of Bomal (Akhnoor), was travelling in a bus bearing registration number JK02K-0883 from Bomal to Akhnoor when she fell down from the bus near Kote Garhi.
The woman sustained serious injuries in the mishap and was shifted to Sub District Hospital Akhnoor, where she died during treatment. The dead body was kept at mortuary room of the hospital for conducting postmortem. The bus was seized by the police whereas its driver fled away from the spot.
Two youth identified as Ravi Kumar (18) son of Natha Ram, resident of Bishnah and Dharminder Kumar (18) son of Darshan Lal, resident of Arnia, were injured when a bike on which they were travelling, got slipped at Arnia. They were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for treatment.
Two real brothers namely Mohd Yasir (23) and Abdul Rahim, sons of Mohd Irfan, residents of Bathindi, got injured when a car in which they were going on, was hit by another car at Channni. They were hospitalized.
A pedestrian identified as Subash Chander (50) son of Dayain Chand, resident of Billawer, was hit and injured by a speeding car at Shastri Nagar. A man identified as Arun Kumar Gupta (45) son of Uttam Chand, resident of Canal Road, was injured when a mini-bus hit his scooty at Maheshpura Chowk. Both the injured were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
