SAMBA, May 12: One Person was killed in tragic road mishap after collision between two canters at Plah Morh area near here, today.
According to the report, the mishap took place at Jammu -Pathankot National Highway near Plah Morh near here early this morning, when there was a head on collision between two canters coming in opposition direction resulting into the death of conductor of the one canter bearing Registration Number PB07AS- 6973. He died on spot and the other canter fled from spot after the incident.
The people in the vicinity immediately informed to police and after getting the information, SHO Samba, Suraj Pathania along with his team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. After a long time the police pulled out the conductor from truck who was trapped there.
The body of the deceased was shifted to Mortuary room of District Hospital Samba for autopsy. It will be handed over to the family after completion of all legal formalities police said.
The deceased conductor has been identified as Vikram Singh resident of Hoshiarpur Punjab. The Samba police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of the law and started further investigation.
