JAMMU, July 22: One person was killed while another got injured due to electrocution in Phlian Mandaal area of city outskirts.
“Two labourers identified as Dharam Pal (43) son of Krishan Chand, resident of Ganeshuchak and Parveen Kumar (27) son of Gopal Dass, resident of Makwal, came in contact with a live wire while working at a stone crusher in Ganeshuchak area this morning”, a police official said.
He said in unconscious condition both the labourers were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Dharam Pal was declared as brought dead by the doctors whereas Parveen Kumar was taken to some private hospital by his family members for specialized treatment.
“After postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, the official said, adding, inquest proceedings in this connection had been initiated at concerned police station.
