JAMMU, Apr 13: A man injured in a road accident on April 11 succumbed to his injuries in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, while seven persons were injured in separate road mishaps today in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a pedestrian identified as Isher Singh (75) son of Sohan Singh, a resident of Tali Morh (Miran Sahib), who was severely injured on April 11 after being hit by a bike near his residence, expired this evening at GMCH, Jammu, where he was undergoing treatment.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting postmortem. The concerned police has already taken cognizance of the matter.
A mobile Kulcha seller and a woman customer standing near him were injured when a speeding Load Carrier hit them at Sidhra. The injured have been identified as Sham Sunder (30) son of Kamlesh, a temporary resident of Sidhra and Seema Jamwal (32) wife of Jagdev Singh, a resident of Sidhra. They were shifted to GMCH for treatment. After registering a case under relevant Sections, the concerned police has seized the vehicle and arrested its driver.
In another incident, a Santro car bearing registration number JK02BD-8486 and an Alto car bearing registration number JMUBB-2619 collided head on with each other near TCP Nagrota this afternoon. In the mishap, drivers of both the cars received injuries and were shifted to GMCH for treatment. The injured have been identified as Bashrat Hussain (42), son of late Noor Ilam, a resident of Bypass Nagrota and Mithu (25) son of Feroz Mohd, a resident of Sunjuwan. The police has registered a case and seized both the vehicles involved in the accident.
At Tanda in Akhnoor, a tipper bearing registration number JK011A-5348 hit a car ( having registration No JK2BB-0396) coming from opposite side and injured three occupants of the car including driver, whose identity could not be ascertained. The other two injured persons have been identified as Priya Devi (35) wife of Makhlik Singh, a resident of Pargwal and Uma Devi (60) wife of Bishan Singh, a resident of Makwal. All the injured were shifted to Government Hospital Akhnoor from where later Priya Devi and Uma Devi were referred to GMCH Jammu. The police has registered a case and seized both the vehicles.
