One killed, 7 injured in road accidents

RAMBAN, Apr 15: In two separate road accidents here today, one person lost his life while seven others were injured.
Police sources said that a car of Alto make bearing registration number JK14B-6105 while on way to Senabathi from Ukhral skidded off the road and landed in a 300 meters deep gorge near Barmand, Mandir Senabathi leaving one person dead and the other injured.
The dead and injured were shifted to PHC, Ukhral.
Police identified the deceased as Omkar Singh, son of Raghunath, resident of Chunthan Senabath, Tehsil, Pogal Paristan (Ukhral) and he was working as a Lineman in PDD.
The injured was driver Mohammad Rafiq, son of Sadiq Ahmed, resident of Gujrara Senabathi, Pogal Paristan, Ukhral.
In another road accident, a vehicle of Tata Sumo make bearing registration number JK03A-9837 plunged into a gorge near Mian, on Seri-Balihote link road.
The ill fated vehicle was on way to Balihote from Ramban and it plunged into a 60-feet-deep gorge near Mian leaving the six persons on board including the driver injured.
On getting information about the accidents rescue teams led by Dy.SP Headquarters and SHO, Police Station Ramban, Vijay Kotwal reached the spot and shifted the injured to District Hospital Ramban for treatment.
Police identified the injured as Driver Patel Singh, 38, son of Ghayan Singh; Sandesha Devi, 37, wife of Patel Singh; Parshotam Singh, 30, son of Mangal Singh; Manjeet Singh, 18, son of Kartar Singh; Gayan Singh, 61, son of Ishar Dass and Imtiyaz Ahmad, 25, son of Shamas Din-all residents of Telimajra and Bagna.
Police has registered two separate cases under relevant sections of law at Police Stations Ramsu and Ramban for further investigation.
