Srinagar, Aug 19: A Maruti driver was killed and seven others were injured in different road accidents.
A police spokesman said a Maruti car JK01D/2859 turned turtle and fell in a deep nallah near Zojila resulting in on spot death of the driver Ghulam Nabi Shah, son of Ghulam Hassan of Gutlibagh, Ganderbal and injuries to another person. The injured was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
A scooter JK05/3947 hit and injured an 8-month-old baby girl Rukaya, daughter of Zahoor Ahmed Chopan of Chittergul Kangan at Kangan market in Ganderbal. The injured child was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Kangan for treatment.
A Tata Indica MET 601469PBA01317 skidded off the road at NHW Chanabal in Mirgund, resulting in injuries to four persons. All the injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
In another accident, a load carrier JKB-081 hit and injured a pedestrian Mohammad Shaban of Baghandar Humhama in Humhama. The injured was shifted to Bone and Joint Hospital, Srinagar for treatment.
The spokesman said police has registered cases in these accidents.
