One killed, 3 injured as Sumo rolls down

RAMBAN, Dec 18: One person was killed while three others were injured when the Tata Sumo they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into nallah at Wagan area near Sherbibi, falling under the jurisdiction of Banihal Police Station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK18-2231 was on its way to Banihal from Ramban when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into a deep gorge at Wagan area near Sherbibi, resulting into on the spot death of one person and injuries to three others.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Banihal from where they were later referred to a hospital in Srinagar.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Majeed (25), son of Mohammad Afzal of Ukhral District Ramban, while the injured were identified as 29-year-old Manzoor Ahmed (driver), son of Ghulam Rasool of Phulo District Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf (37), son of Ahmidoo Bhat of Senabathi Ukhral District Ramban and Naseer Ahmed (32), son of Ghulam Nabi of Shangus, District Anantnag.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
