SANGALDHAN, July 13: Following death of a person and injuries to two others when a tractor, carrying them, rolled down in deep gorge at Gool Sangaldan road, locals held a strong protest against non-availability of doctor and ambulance at the Sangaldan hospital, here today.
The tractor was on its way from Sangaldan towards Gool, when it met with the accident near Chanadail Morh due to rash and negligent driving by unknown driver, who fled from spot.  The tractor rolled down from main road  about 200 feet, resulting  in on spot death of one namely Shah Hussain (19), son of  Ghulam Mohd Taragwal of Bhattas and serious injuries to Shakeel Ahmed (36)son of Abdul Aziz Manhas of  Gundi Dharam and
Kaka Ram (18), son of  Sandra Chand of Dhar Kholi.
Members of NDRF and locals shifted both the injured persons to PHC Sangaldan where they were referred to Distt Hospital Ramban because of non-availability of any doctor at PHC Sangaldan.
Due to non-availability of ambulance, the dead body also remained on the road for around three hours. The body was later shifted to Gool hospital with the help of a Railway construction company, which provided its ambulance.
Agitated over non-availability of doctors and ambulance, locals protested against the Health Department authorities.  They also blocked the road for some time. The protesting people were demanding doctors and ambulance at the Sangaldan hospital. The NDRF members, who helped in rescue of the injured and shifting them to hospital, rued that the concerned authorities had not provided them first aid kits as well as  identity cards, in absence of which they were facing difficulties during rescue operations.
A case FIR number 65/2018 U/S 279/337/304-A RPC has been  registered in  connection with the accident.
