Jammu : A 6th class student was killed and 12 others injured when a school bus turned on the road near Bishnah on Wednesday morning. Identifying the deceased as Khushboo, police said that mishap occurred near Chakbana village when bus after carrying students to the school. Three of the seriously injured students have been rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital at Jammu.
While police said that the cause of accident was yet to be known, sources attributed it to rash and negligent driving by the bus driver while picking up students on poorly maintained in nearby villages. One of the tyres of the bus had moved away from its rim, sources pointed out.
District Magistrate, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the accident. (Agencies)
