JAMMU, Apr 12: Police today arrested a person and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor from his possession.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Bishnah police station conducted a raid at Kotli Charkan, Bishnah and arrested one person along with 20 litres of illicit liquor and 150 litres lahan. The lahan was destroyed by the police party on the spot, he added.
The accused has been identified as Mangal Dass, son of Bihari Lal, spokesman said, adding that a case has been registered at Bishnah police station and investigation started.
Police party led by SHO Deepak Pathania made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Diwakar Singh.
