RAMBAN, June 3: Police here today arrested an alleged drug peddler from Banihal and recovered heroin-like substance from him.
According to sources, cops from Police Station Banihal during a routine Naka checking at T-Chowk, Banihal intercepted a person moving suspiciously and he identified himself as Sahil Ahmad Sheikh, son of Mehraj Ud Din Sheikh, resident of Firdousabad, Batamaloo, Srinagar.
Upon his search, cops recovered approximately 4 to 5 grams of heroin-like contraband substance and he was arrested on the spot.
A case in FIR number 109/2026 has been registered in this regard at Police Station Banihal under Sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act and investigation started.
