KISHTWAR, Apr 6: Police here today detained a notorious drug smuggler from Uppar Malipath and recovered 10 gm heroin from his possession.
SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal constituted a special team which was led by Inspector Abid Bukhari, SHO Police Station Kishtwar and PSI, Rohit and PSI, Yodveer under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs, Ashish Gupta.
The team developed specific information and conducted raid and recovered heroin (Chitta) like substance weighing about 10 gm and arrested the narcotic smuggler involved who was identified as Arshad Ahmed, son of Sanaullah Shah, resident of Seergawri Thakrie, Kishtwar, at present Uppar Malipath in Kishtwar.
Accordingly a case in FIR Number 67/2023 stands registered at Police Station Kishtwar under relevant sections of law and investigation was taken up.
