UDHAMPUR, Nov 23: District Police Udhampur today arrested an interstate narcotics smuggler with 16 kilogram of Poppy straw.
“A team from Police Station Udhampur led by its SHO Inspector Raghubir Choudhary during routine checking recovered 16.3 kg Poppy straw like substance from a Punjab bound truck bearing registration number PB11DC-5309 at Jakhani,” a police spokesman said.
He said driver of the truck identified as Dilshad Ali son of Iftkar Ali of Malerkotla (Punjab) was arrested and a case FIR Number 592/2023 under Sections 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur. Further investigation of the case was started, he added.
