JAMMU, May 20: Gandhi Nagar police arrested a man with intoxicants from Nai Basti area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, during a joint naka laid down by SOG group and police station Gandhi Nagar, police signaled a Figo car bearing registration No JK02AR-1157 coming from Nai Basti Bazaar towards Gandhi Nagar, to stop but on seeing the naka party, the driver of the car tried to flee away from the spot.
But the alert naka party chased the vehicle and caught hold the vehicle after a hot chase. On checking of the vehicle, police recovered 85 bottles of Phensi Dyl and 10 bottles of Corex from the vehicle, which was seized by them. The driver of the vehicle identified as Ajay Kumar Gupta alias Titu son of Hem Raj Gupta, a resident of House No 756, Subhash Nagar, Jammu, was also arrested by the police.
The arrest and recovery was made by a police team led by SHO, police station, Gandhi Nagar, Inspector Bishnesh Kumar along with Sub Inspector Madan Lal.
