JAMMU, Sept 8: Police arrested a man under ‘Operation Sanjeevni’ and recovered 3.5 kilograms poppy straw near Railway Station area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bahu Fort police station, a police official said.
The accused has been identified as Lakshmi Kumar Tandon, son of Hari Dass Tandon, a resident of Chattishgarh, presently residing in Bhagwati Nagar Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 186/16 has been registered at Bahu Fort police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bahu Fort Bharat Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Chandan Kohli and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
