DODA, July 11: Police today arrested one person along with 80 scants of timber from forest area of Bhalara.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Mohammad Sharief Chouhan, based on reliable information, police party from Police Post Bhalara, Bhaderwah arrested Ram Parshad, son of Om Raj of Misrata Ghati Morh from the forest area of Bhalara and seized 80 timber scants alongwith, one saw and one axe from his possession.
His associate namely Mohammad Farooq, son of Mohammad Hanief of Patwa Misrata who is involved in forest destruction/theft managed to escape from the spot and manhunt has been launched to nab him, SSP added.
A case under FIR No 97/14 under Section 379 RPC and 6 Forest Act has been registered at police station Bhaderwah and investigation started, he added.
