One held with 1.4 kgs sapphire

JAMMU, Dec 1: Bus-Stand police arrested a person along with 1.400 kilograms of sapphire, which he was carrying illegally.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Bus-Stand police station intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 1.400 kilograms of sapphire (raw) worth several lakhs and arrested the person, who has been identified as Mohammad Iqbal, son of Assadullah Bhat of Gundana, district Doda.
A case under FIR number 79/14 under Section 4/5 Sapphire Act has been registered at police station Bus Stand and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bus Stand police station Inspector Bhushan Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Parbeet Singh, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
