One dies of COVID in Jammu, 74 test +ve

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, July 15: One person died of COVID-19 and 74 tested positive in Jammu today while 129 new infections were reported in Kashmir and four in Ladakh.
A 75-year-old man hailing from Ghat in Doda district with no co-morbidities died of COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Doda today taking death toll in Jammu region to 2130 and Doda to 122.
Among 74 new cases in the region, 22 were reported in Reasi district and all of them were travelers who tested positive on their arrival at Katra Railway Station, 16 in Rajouri, 11 Jammu, seven Udhampur, six Kishtwar, five Poonch, three each in Ramban and Doda and one in Samba district. No new cases were recorded in Kathua district.
Jammu region now has 850 active positive cases.
Of four new cases in Ladakh, two each were reported in Leh and Kargil districts.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 129 cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 42 from Srinagar, 15 from Baramulla, 11 from Budgam, 6 from Pulwama, 12 from Kupwara, 9 from Anantnag, 13 from Bandipora, 19 from Ganderbal and 2 from Kulgam.
As per officials figures, 70,818 positive cases including 832 deaths and 69,534 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,463 including 280 deaths and 23,017 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,772 including 22,469 recoveries and 204 deaths are from Budgam, 15,063 including 14,791 recoveries and 193 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,980 including 165 deaths and 13,733 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,266 including 15,948 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,423 cases including 9,246 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,789 including 9,595recoveries and 77 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,199 including 11,021 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,571 including 5,505 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 198,344 including 194,859 recoveries and 2,231 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,105 including 1,254 from Kashmir division.
With 334 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 312,890, which is 97.98 percent of the total cases.
And after Pahalgam and Sonamarg, the authorities today halted day-picnicking to the world-famous tourist destination Gulmarg on weekend days.
An order issued here by the District Magistrate Baramulla stated that no local day-picnickers shall be allowed “to enter tourist destination Gulmarg on weekend days (Saturday & Sunday).”
The order came days after similar directions were issued by the district administration Anantnag and Ganderbal disallowing day picnickers to Pahalgam and Sonamarg.
The order stated that the directives so issued are aimed to contain the spread of COVID-19 disease at the tourist destination.
“Only Vaccinated persons or persons possessing Negative Test Report of RAT/RTPCR conducted within 48 hours shall be allowed to enter tourist destination Gulmarg,” the order said
It also added that only tourists who have the pre-booking of Hotels, Guest Houses, Huts, etc. shall be allowed on weekend days (Saturday & Sunday).
Those found in violation of the direction, it has been stated, will be fined by the law enforcement agencies.
