One dies of COVID, 63 test +ve

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Mar 1: One person died of COVID-19 and 63 tested positive while 56 others recovered from the virus in Jammu and Kashmir today.
Nine persons tested positive for Coronavirus in Jammu region including seven in Jammu district and one each in Udhampur and Kathua districts. Rest seven districts of the region didn’t report any fresh cases today.
Eighteen persons recovered from the virus in the region-eight in Jammu district, seven Udhampur, two Samba and one in Rajouri district.
Jammu region now has 52002 Corona cases. Among them, 198 are active positive while 51079 have recovered from the virus and there have been 725 casualties in the region.
Among 725 casualties, maximum 373 have been reported from Jammu district followed by 64 in Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 53 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 16 in Reasi district.
Ramban and Reasi districts in the region have no active cases. The highest 117 active positive cases of COVID-19 are in Jammu district, 58 in Udhampur, five each Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar and Poonch, two Doda and one in Rajouri district.
Meanwhile, 54 persons today tested positive for COVID-19 while one person died of Corona in Valley taking the death toll in J&K to 1958.
Those who tested positive include 18 from Srinagar, 7 Baramulla, 4 Budgam, 6 Pulwama, 3 Kupwara, 11 Anantnag, 1 Bandipora, 2 Ganderbal and 2 from Kulgam.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 74,502 including 72,638 recoveries and 1,233 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 829 including 631 from Kashmir division.
With 56 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 123,717, which is 97.80 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, the UT of Ladakh today reported one COVID positive case in Leh district.
Ladakh now has 46 active positive cases.
