One dies of Corona in J&K, 109 test +ve

Jammu/Srinagar, Jan 16: One person died of COVID-19 in Kashmir today taking the fatality count to 1921 while 54 persons tested positive.
A 75-year-old man from Mazhama in Magam area of district Budgam died of COVID-19 today. He was admitted to hospital and succumbed today.
So far 1921 people have succumbed to virus in J&K including 1206 in the Valley.
Srinagar district with 453 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 172, Budgam 115, Kupwara 94, Pulwama 88, Anantnag 84, Bandipora 61, Kulgam 54, Ganderbal 46 and Shopian 39.
Cases tested positive in J&K include 20 from Srinagar, 8 Baramulla, 5 Budgam, 7 Pulwama, 5 Kupwara, 1 from Anantnag, 5 Ganderbal, 1 Kulgam and 2 Shopian in Kashmir division.
The number of cases in Kashmir division have reached to 72,135 including 70,204 recoveries and 1,206 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,280 including 725 from Kashmir division.
With 256 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 120,016 which is 97.41 percent of the total cases.
In Jammu region, no Corona casualties were reported today.
However, 55 persons tested positive for the virus, 47 alone in Jammu district, three Samba, two Kathua and one each in Udhampur, Poonch and Ramban districts.
Rest of the districts didn’t report any Corona positive case today.
On the other, 168 persons recovered from the virus, the highest being 137 in Jammu district.
Jammu region now has 51082 Corona cases including 555 active positives as 49812 have recovered from the virus and there have been 715 casualties.
