JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Oct 20: Seventy eight persons today tested positive for COVID-19—66 in Kashmir and 12 in Jammu while two new cases were reported in Ladakh. One COVID casualty was recorded in the Valley.
Among 12 fresh cases in the Jammu region, eight were registered in Jammu district, two in Doda and one each in Reasi and Kathua districts. Eight other districts of the region didn’t report any cases.
Ten persons recovered from the virus leaving 127 active positive cases in the Jammu region.
Two fresh cases in Ladakh were reported from Leh district.
Ladakh now has 34 active positive cases, all in Leh district.
As of now, Kargil district has become free of Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 66 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 48 from Srinagar, 5 from Baramulla, 9 from Budgam, 1 from Kupwara, 1 from Anantnag, 1 from Bandipora and 1 from Ganderbal.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 207,084 including 204,157 recoveries and 2,254 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 800 including 673 from Kashmir division.
With 80 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 326,070 which is 98.42 percent of the total cases.
